New Star Wars FPS in the works at Apex Legends studio, Respawn Entertainment
Just when you thought EA would stop making Star Wars games, the developer has come out and announced that a brand new Star Wars FPS is in development at first-person shooter aficionados, Respawn Entertainment.
The studio, which has produced two of the best FPS games of the last decade, Apex Legends and Titan fall, has brought together a new team that is led by Peter Hirschman. Hirschman previously worked as an executive producer on the original Star Wars Battlefront games and also worked on the recent Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond VR FPS for Oculus platforms.
In a statement from the announcement Hirschman said that “Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a story I have always wanted to tell”. The announcement didn’t contain any details about the game, and it still sounds a while away.
Jeff Grubs from VentureBeat earlier in the month said that Respawn is currently working on a single-player FPS with a focus on “mobility and style”. While many thought this could be Titan fall, Grubs said that it isn’t. And, in a new article Grubs has confirmed that this Star Wars game is not the project he was referring to.

This announcement came alongside the announcement of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2 and a new strategy game in the Star Wars universe. Rumors suggest we will hear about the former first, so a Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2 release date may be around the corner. Although, this FPS from the studio seems a little further off.
