How to back up your game in Mortal Shell

Backup Your Game Save File - PC With regard to souls type games, checkpoints are commonplace. It usually means a campfire or point of importance that you can reach and trigger, which will create a backup state and a reappearance state on which you can come back if you die in the game.

In Mortal Shell, you have some options to create backups. First, you can activate one of the dormant masked woman's statues of the game, Sister Tessa. These act as checkpoints of the game with which you will come back after death, but also provide information about the game when you collect objects and interact with them more often.

They can also be used to recover health, and you can use your TAR currency and Glimpse to add enhancements to the combat skills of the current shell you occupy. However, all the enemies you killed until activating the statue will reappear.

Second, when you move between the instances of the game, a backup state will be created to allow you to return to where you entered the area in the current instance. For example, if you enter one of the game dungeon areas, it will bring you back to this point if you are killed before reaching another Statue of Sister Tessa.

Finally, it is not always practical to head for a new instance or find a statue if you need to save and leave. The game will also perform a backup state when you exit the main menu. You will return to a Statue of Sister Tessa or at the beginning of an instance when you recharge the game, but you will keep the tar you collected before your backup.
