After Arenanet and Undead Labs, Jeff Strain founded the Possibility Space studio
Co-Founder of Arenanet (the Guild Wars studio bought by NCSOFT) and founder of UNDEAD Labs (the Stage of Decay Studio bought by Microsoft), Jeff Strain today announces the creation of its new company: Possibility Space.
While waiting to discover who will be the first to buy this studio in a more or less close future, know that Possibility Space has settled in New Orleans, which changes some of the usual strong places of the African video game like California , Seattle and Texas. That said, the Studio s principle is to be accessible to professionals around the world and thus fully embraces their time in teleworking, as confirmed by the positions to be filled on the official website.
Former Blizzard Evolving in the sector for almost 30 years, Jeff Strain was surrounded by other veterans to occupy key positions, including Jane Ng (Campo Santo, Valve), Liz England (Ubisoft, Insomniac), Richard Food (UNDEAD Labs, ProbabblyMonsters), Leah Rivera (Undead Labs, Arenanet), Charles Randall (Ubisoft, BioWare), Erica Tam (Electronic Arts, Oculus) or Austin Walker, the former waypoint editor who takes here the role of director license. Note that 7 of the 14 founding members of the studio are women.
Born from a need to rebound and escape the isolation caused by the sanitary conditions, Possibility Space presents itself as a modern and ethical studio, animated by a desire to establish a culture as healthy and welcoming as possible. Good intentions not enough to fill the fridge, the studio has received the financial support of Unity, the state of Louisiana and the Transcend Investment Fund.
