Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic: Sony kündigt Remake für PS5 & PC an
In recent years, there were always rumors around a new edition for the bioware classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic from 2003. No wonder. After all, Kotor is still one of the best star-Wars video games ever, recalled the then genius of bioware and certainly not only brought the author of these lines one of the most magical moments of video games history .
Partly to hear that Bioware or Electronic Arts should develop on a modern version, but one was not sure if it could not be a third part of the roleplaying series. This year, the well-known Games Journalist Jason Schreier turned in the rumors and explained that no one is guessing which studio actually works on a Kotor remake.
In February there was a more concrete note: When the Embracer Group (THQ Nordic, Koch Media) took up the US software company Asyr Media, was it in the parallel press release :
At Aspyr are currently several games in development, including a large, continuous gaming project with an estimated budget of $ 70 million, which will be very important for the entire Group. At these development projects work with the core Team in Austin, Texas More than 200 internal and external developers, [...].
Already there we speculated that aspyr could act around the rather unknown studio, which now develops a remake for Kotor. Especially as Asyr thanks to ports for The Force Unleashed and Knights of the Old Republic II is already in the topic in it.
Sony officially announces remake for PlayStation 5 and PC
At the PlayStation Showcase 2021, the Jedi was finally left out of the sack: Sony officially announced with a short teaser trailer the remake for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Buy € 15.00 now). And who is doing it? Lucasfilm Games and Asyr. And what is the game developed for? For PlayStation 5 and (according to a tweet of Asyr) PC. Well so what!
Unfortunately, in the course of the announcement, there was no ingame or gameplay scenes, which is why it s hard to say how far the remake will go in the revision. But see yourself:
Internally, we hope for a Final Fantasy VII jump, which is concerned about graphics, gameplay and staging. Whether 70 million US dollars are enough? What do you all mean? And are you looking forward to the announcement?
