PS5 Games can not be displaced from CIND SSD
While influencers, critics and all kinds of people are starting to get their new generation consoles, we, the commoners, get small details from them and specifications. While the PS5 and the Xbox Series X both bring a new level of quality and power, there are still things on both that seem to be left out of the fans' wish list and things that could surprise. One of these specificities is the PS5 SSD. Something strange and minor is that PS5 games can not be transferred or moved from the native drive to the console.
Why should fans worry about it? Well, the PS5 SSD is big, but it is not infinite, and the games are just becoming bigger and more room. Thus, with PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, the games of these consoles can be stored on a USB drive or an external drive. In some cases, you can read them on these external storage units. However, with PS5 games, there is currently no third-party reader approved by Sony to accommodate them. To be clear, it is not that the PS5 is unable to transfer data because PS4 games can be moved to external disks, but PS5 games should not be moved; They can only be deleted for the moment.
The guys from Digital Foundry searched their new PS5 and charged it with PS5 games and PS4 games. In the storage settings, there are items that you can delete and items you can move. PS4 games appeared on both lists while PS5 games only appeared on the first. It may not be a big problem for people, but when you download this 100 GB + PS5 game again after deleting it, you will ask yourself on these hours of play that could have been.
It's something that Sony should have solved beforehand? Let us know in the comments below.
